Dr. Mirza Khalid Baig

          Dr. Mirza Khalid Baig is working as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela India. Prior to this, he also worked as an Electronics Engineer for Ingenia Technology, in a product design team to implement a novel authentication technology called Laser Surface Authentication (LSA). He also worked under the ERC funded I2MOVE Synergy project, led by Prof Chris Toumazou and Prof Stephen Bloom, to develop an intelligent, implantable vagus nerve stimulator for obesity treatment. Previously Prof. Khalid was also employed in a project funded by EPSRC aimed at real time sensing of neuro-chemical signals.

Deepjyoti Kalita

          Deepjyoti Kalita is working as a PhD. Research Scholar in the Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, India. Prior to this, he was with Tata Consultancy Services, India as Systems Engineer (TCS Digital) from May 2020 to August 2020. His area of interest are Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence solutions to Biomedical Problems, Deep Neural network, Analog Circuit Design, Emerging area of VLSI Technology, Analog and mixed signal circuits,CMOS Sensor circuit.

Hrishita Sharma

          Hrishita Sharma is currently working as a PhD research scholar in the department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering, NIT Rourkela working on the area of Bioectronics and Biosensors for biosensing the chronic diseases. The work is on design and testing of Biosensors to enable continuous monitoring of the biomarkers to enable closed loop disease, diagnosis, management and treatment along with including the longevity of the Biosensors. She completed her M. Tech in Bioelectronics from Tezpur University, ECE department and completed her B. Tech in Electrical & Electronics engineering from Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology.

Romin Vaghasiya

Greetings! I'm Rominkumar Vaghasiya, a Biomedical Engineering graduate from LD College of Engineering ('21), presently pursuing my M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. I've held the role of Senior Biomedical Engineer (HOD) at GMERS Medical College and General Hospital Junagadh. Notably, my undergraduate project spotlighted Multiclass 3D Brain Tumor Automatic Localization using 3D MRI images, earning it the department's top recognition. I've also contributed to projects like Digital Stethoscope and Smart Wastebin. I'm honored to have received an award from the education minister of Gujarat. My expertise extends to Electronic and Hardware design utilizing Altium. Currently, I'm engaged in EEG and EMG signal acquisition and analysis, continuing my journey at the intersection of technology and healthcare.

I'm inclined towards Machine Learning, Artificial intelligence. I'm working on Retinopathy detection using deep learning. And I have experience in materials science as well.

 I am a fourth-year B.Tech. student at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela from the Department of Biomedical Engineering. I was working as an analog engineer intern in Neurostellar pvt. Limited, IIT Madras Research Park on Neurotechnology-based hardware development. Prior to that, I was working at Central Manufacturing Institute of Technology, Bangalore as a Research Intern where I was developing hardware for Cancer detection. I have also Secured an All India Rank of 11 in GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test For Engineering)  Biomedical  Engineering and an All India Rank of 511 in GATE Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering during my third year of B.Tech. I have worked on hardware(Circuit) development, troubleshooting, embedded programming, and component entry in PCB software with a custom design. I am interested in Analog & Digital Electronics, Biomedical Instrumentation, Medical Embedded Systems, and Neurotechnology.

Priyanka Maharana

I am Priyanka Maharana, a final year student at NIT Rourkela, pursuing a B.Tech in Biotechnology. In terms of my skills, I am specialized in languages like C, C++, and JavaScript. Additionally, I have a good grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), having solved over 1000 problems across platforms like GeeksforGeeks, LeetCode, Codeforces, InterviewBit, and CodeStudio. I achieved an institute rank below 40 on GeeksforGeeks. During my internship at a fitness company, I utilized JavaScript and Node.js to design their webpage for real-time data fetching. I also secured the second rank in a DSA mock round on the Placewit platform. Currently, my area of focus is glucose monitoring.

I am a final year B.Tech student of Biomedical Engineering at NIT Rourkela. My interest and skillset lies signal processing and data analysis using AI/ML. I have performed CGM sensor analysis by determining its accuracy and longevity using machine learning techniques. I am currently working on designing compact EEG system for signal processing.
